What To Expect When Visiting

It can be stressful to visit a church for the first time, because you don’t know what to expect. We want you to feel comfortable and at ease when you visit, so here are some things you can expect when visiting.
  • The reason we gather as a church is to worship our Amazing God! So, you will find a worship service that is filled with praise and prayer. One thing you will notice is that our worship songs are without musical instruments. That is part of our heritage in the church of Christ. But we hope that our praises are accompanied by the most important instrument – our hearts!
  • Every Sunday we remember and celebrate the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross to save us as we share the Lord’s Supper. It is the centerpiece of our weekly worship.
  • As part of our worship, we give an offering of a portion of what we have been blessed by God. We are not doing this to take advantage of our visitors. It is for the members of the Park Rapids church to fulfill Jesus’ words: It is more blessed to give than to receive. By the offerings the churches ministries are sustained, people are helped, orphans are supported and the good news of Jesus is shared.
  • The Truth of Jesus and His Word are very important to us! In knowing the Truth, we are set free. That is why Jesus and His word are the basis for our Bible studies and preaching. Our desire is to know Jesus and truly follow Him.
  • Our assemblies are a family get-together, because through Jesus we are a family. We would love to have you join us and we hope you feel welcomed and accepted. Don’t worry about how you dress, we are more concerned about being together, than about how you are dressed.
  • Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

    Matthew 22:37-40
